About Lower grange farm

In July 2009 Kent Scouts completed the purchase of Lower Grange Farm, an agricultural complex comprising of a traditional Kentish Barn, stable blocks and almost 4 acres of land.

Since then Kent Scouts has been working on an ambitious project to convert the site into a leading centre for young people. The multimillion pound project is well underway with the site now providing a wide range of activities, accommodation and facilitating events.

Young people at the heart...

Right from the purchase, young people have been involved with the development of the site, feeding in ideas into the design and taking on the task of clearing the site ready for use.

Our youth project team have also driven the project to build a purpose built climbing centre on the site which will soon be available for booking.

Environmental credentials

It was clear from the feedback following the purchase that the site needed to be environmentally friendly. The design and construction has focused on the sites sustainability with features such as rain water harvesting and natural habitats built into the development. The life cycle of materials used has been considered to limit the impact our centre has on the world both now and in the future.

Where possible Lower Grange Farm uses recycled products and we encourage our guests to separate their waste into the different recycling bins provided.
