We
are again repeating the opportunity for Kent Cub Scouts to complete the
Naturalist Badge at Lower Grange Farm during April to the end of September 2015. Packs who
came last year used the evening as a Pack Meeting or if coming at the weekend
as an extra event. All dates and times need to be checked with the Centre
Manage before confirmation is given.
The Badge takes about 2 hours to complete but this is
dependent on the numbers attending. The Pack is split into 3 groups and work
their way around the various bases which are:
Stream Dipping and recognition of what has been caught
Bug hunting and identifying
Trees/fruits of trees/leaves/bark rubbings
Games if time related to the badge
The cost of £5 per Cub includes refreshments at the end,
together with the badge and a Pack Certificate of Attendance. Times for the evening are 6.30pm to 8.30pm
with a minimum of 10 Cubs.(Weekend times are by arrangement)
There is no need to prepare the Cubs for this badge, however
a little knowledge from the leaders could be helpful as they will accompany the
Cubs around each Base.
